Missions Report by Aliv2Love Missionary, Carrie Hardin

Two years ago when the Holy Spirit moved my 13 year old son Will to tears hearing about Alive2Love’s mission to Honduras I knew he had a calling to missions.  This was reaffirmed at NC youth Conference last November when we saw Joseph Gordon speak.  When Doug came to DCI with the missions conference back in March of this year, I heard God say loud and clear, it was time for Will to go. My husband, Mark, was between jobs when we paid our deposit, so I decided to accompany Will.  I was very nervous and anxious.  When we heard testimonies from the mission field I always felt I wanted to go, but didn’t think I was physically or spiritually equipped.  Once we were in Honduras God showed me otherwise- again and again.  I witnessed many people give their lives to Christ and witnessed miracles!

On day three, my group was met with a bridge that had many gaps (one was at least 4 feet!).  The options were cross the bridge or go through the river.  After a rainy day of slipping all over rocks the day before, I felt led to cross the bridge.  Halfway across my anxiety almost got the better of me, but Connie stopped and prayed for our passage.  Jesus got five of us over that bridge safely and He got the rest of our group through the river. Once we were on the other side we saw the van was in the village. We didn’t really have to cross either, but we did and I feel we passed God’s faith tests that day. The same day my heart was so overwhelmed when Connie and I prayed over a lady with leg swelling and pain. While we were praying, I felt a wind blow through the house (it hadn’t really blown all day) and shortly after that I felt her veins pulsate by her knee. When we were done praying, she stood from the chair with her child.  She started weeping saying that before she couldn’t get out of the chair without help, and now she had done it holding her child! The Holy Spirit’s presence was so tangible the entire trip.
